Hey guys!! Hope you are having a wonderful time preparing for the Holidays! I am almost done with my shopping! I wanted to write a quick blog post about how to take care of your skin in the winter! I know my skin changes once winter comes around. It gets very dry BUT…when I take good care of my skin and follow thought with all the tips I list below my skin is perfectly hydrated and glowy!
TIP 1 – 4 Step Skincare Routine
It is very important to follow through with (at least) a 4 step skincare routine EVERYDAY. I did a blog post on my daily skincare routine and you can read that here! I still recommend all the products in my older post but I have added some additional products, that I love, below!
Step 1 – Cleanse – My Picks
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser – removes makeup before cleaning the face (shop with me for 20% off).
Arbonne RE9 Advanced Smoothing Facial Cleanser – BEST facial cleanser I have EVER used.
Step 2 – Tone – My Picks
Step 3 – Serum/Essence – My Picks
Step 4 – Moisturize – My Picks
TIP 2 – Add Oil to Your Routine
Adding an oil to your routine will change your skin, especially in the winter. I add a face oil in after I put on my serum and before moisturizer. Benefits of adding oil to your skincare routine = moisturizing, anti-aging, regulate and stabilize the production of sebum, can improve texture & much more.
Face Oils I Recommend
TIP 3 – Mask it Up!
Adding a mask to your skincare routine will GREATLY improve your skin’s condition! You can get masks targeted towards your skin type and skin concerns! You can find masks to treat dry skin, oily skin, acne, mature skin & many more! I suggest using a mask every other day but you can use one every day if you wanted!
Masks I recommend
TIP 4 – Getting Facials
I recently visited Aum Aesthetics to get a red wine treatment and microdermabrasion. It was amazing and I will definitely be getting a facials regularly from now on! Getting facials regularly will help to maintain the overall health of the skin. Facials deep clean and exfoliate the skin. Facials will get rid of clogged pores, dead skin cells, and texture on the skin.
Megan was my esthetician & I asked her give me a little write up as to why facials are important & why we all should be getting them regularly. She’s a professional, so obviously she can explain it better LOL. You can follow her instagram here & subscribe to her YouTube chanel here!
“Getting a facial from a licensed professional will allow you to know your actual skin type, and the exact products that will work for your skin and concerns. Your esthetician will customize the treatment to your skin and skin concerns, everything they do to your skin and apply to you will be specifically for you and your skin. Whether you have acne concerns, fine lines or sensitivity, your esthetician will address those concerns and come up with a plan to target those specific areas and treat them as quickly and effectively as possible.
Since estheticians have access to products and equipment that anyone without a license can’t get access to, you will be treated with high quality ingredients and high tech equipment that will go deeper into the skin and can improve the quality of the skin much quicker and more effective than products you can purchase in stores/over the counter.
What are you doing to improve your skincare this winter?
